Frye Onaga is peppy and a slight bit reckless, easily the most energetic of the trio. She can be a bit of an airhead, and also has a penchant for harmless pranks. She's a fun-loving Inkling with a love for both singing and dancing. She was trained in both from a young age, and she became physically fit as a result of her dance training. She also dances when excited!! (Beyond cute!) But she also loves food, and isn't picky about which she eats.
Frye is a member of a long family line of eel charmers, known as the Onaga clan, who are well-known and well-respected within Splatlands. Because she was so busy with dance lessons and eel training, she had trouble making friends, which is what made fellow outcast Shiver approach her. This, of course, led to the eventual formation of Deep Cut.
I see Frye as a bisexual who is in a polycule with the other members of Deep Cut! I see her as having ADHD, and her habit of dancing when excited is a form of stimming for her. I think, because she was in dance training so young, she, at some point, got burnt out and started to not have any fun with it, as it was something that her family made her go through. However, through the formation of Deep Cut, she was able to get her groove back and learn to love dancing again! In general, actually, she can run into issues with creative burnout; burning herself up with her own unbridled energy and passion. Shiver and Big Man's willingness to cover everything they can for her while she recovers from burnout is always appreciated, and makes her feel very loved.
