After much, much waiting, I finally got new Nintendo Switch controllers!! The pastel pink ones, of course. My femme ass couldn't resist. It's such a relief to be able to play games without Joycon drift! My Splatoon win rate has risen a LOT. I also 100%ed Princess Peach: Showtime, which was the game that came with the controllers. I thoroughly enjoyed it!
I also saw Luca in theaters!! I was so excited to see one of my favorite movies on the big screen, and it didn't disappoint. I was especially able to appreciate the sound design especially a lot more! My mom picked me up after the movie, and took me to a plus-sized store to buy some stuff. She talked about how she was 'concerned for my health' (re: my weight), but, at the very least, she didn't suggest dieting. She's started portioning off my pasta meals in baggies, so they're less inconsistent, and it's not like the amount she assigned leaves me hungry. Plus, I've switched to largely eating Frosted Flakes with strawberries for breakfast.
I also have many physical media updates! I binded my first fic with a paper binding technique! It was my boyfriend's fanfic, and, although I printed it out wrong the first time, it was a straightforward process, with just some scissors, sewing and paper. I also got two zines in the mail; the Owl House zine, which was meant to celebrate the show's finale (yeah, it got delayed), and a LEGO Monkie Kid zine! Both are great quality, and I'm happy to have them! In relation to zines, the trans Danganronpa zine finally started up production again, after multiple months of delays... I have a few choice words for the moderators for that zine. Under no circumstances should an issue with the cover take up, like, half a year of time, with no posting on the socials whatsoever. You killed off most of the momentum you had going. Be for real...
I also finally got Luka to try VRchat! And Luma and Zelda, too! It was a LOT of fun, hehe. Luka told me that pup doubted that we'd feel like we're in a physical space together, like I touted, but pup admitted that it definitely did feel like that. And zie was just on zier computer! I was the only one with a VR headset, to my knowledge. I had a lot of fun with it, buuut I definitely felt really sick after taking it off. Like getting off of a boat... It doesn't hit me until after I take it off, you know?
With regards to school, exams are coming up! ... Which is less than ideal, because I ran out of my ADHD medicine! Annnd there's a global shortage right now, so getting more is a pain in the ass! Normally, my mom would let me use her attention meds, but she's out of them, too, and was searching for a place to buy more since even before mine ran out. She even tried to pawn some off of my younger cousin, but he's out too!! The situation. Is. DIRE!!! We only have about a week to get our hands on some medicine, and, with the shortage we have now, that's gonna be next to impossible...! I trust my mom to handle it, but I dunno what I'm gonna do if I have to rawdog my exams!
On the bright side, I have a new obsession! Dead Plate!! And, FINALLY, a hyperfixation that makes me want to draw an ungodly amount of fanart!! Upon this fixation started, I checked my art tumblr to see when my last fixation like this ended (the Red Son era of '23). It turned out it had been over a YEAR since my last fanart-focused fixation. No wonder I've been having such a weird time with my art lately... It also motivated me to write a video essay script! I'm sure I'll get the essay written and my voice recorded, so I hope Verdant will do the video editing parts, like he plans to.
